PTIG Overview

The Protein Trafficking Interest Group (PTIG) was formed in March, 1995 to promote the exchange of ideas among research groups which study any aspect of intracellular macromolecular traffic or related topics (e.g., membrane fusion, organelle biogenesis).

Meetings are open to all members of the NIH intramural community as well as scientists from local universities and research institutes. Current activities include monthly workshops at which members of participating labs speak on a rotating basis.

Occasionally the PTIG also sponsors lectures by outside speakers, organizes symposia at venues such as the NIH research festival, and co-organizes a joint trafficking retreat in conjunction with scientists at Johns Hopkins University.
