Children's Inn sign

The Children's Inn at the National Institutes of Health is a residential "place like home" for sick children and their families. Children come from across the country and around the world to stay together with their families in The Inn's healing environment while receiving medical treatment at NIH. The Children's Inn is a 24-hour facility and a Manager on Duty (MOD) is always available.

Reservations and Accommodations

Check-In: 3:00 p.m.
Checkout: 10:00 a.m.

Health Screening

We ask families to be aware of the fragile health of those who stay at The Inn. Should you or anyone else coming to The Inn develop cold or flu symptoms, or become exposed to chicken pox or shingles, please reschedule your visit or make alternate accommodations.

On Campus Shuttle Service

The Children's Inn shuttle is available to assist families with getting to and from the NIH Clinical Center and the Metro (subway). The Shuttle is wheelchair accessible and runs on weekdays and weekends.
